Background

Dan Caporale founded Hearthstone Design Build to bring the precision, accountability, and hands-on craftsmanship of military service to high-end residential and estate construction in Northern Virginia. After serving in the United States Marine Corps, Dan returned to the Piedmont region — where he was raised — and built a contracting practice grounded in field experience, transparent cost-plus contracts, and a specialized focus on timber frame and design-build delivery.

Today, Hearthstone serves landowners and estate clients across Loudoun, Fauquier, Clarke, and Albemarle counties — building timber frame homes, luxury barns, pavilions, pools, and hospitality structures including wineries and breweries. Dan personally walks every site and underwrites every project's design, scope, and budget alignment before a contract is signed.
